Risingware Exp+ 2.5.0 Release Notes

Last revised: November 9, 2010.

Some major new features, improvements, and bug fixes in 2.5.0 are as follows;

[New Features]

  • Starting from this version, Risingware Exp+ is compatible with Windows 7.
  • Files that support ActiveX format, such as MS Office files and PDF files, can now be fast previewed by using File Content Previewer.
  • Aside from viewing files in details, you can view them in thumbnails, graphics, and icons, etc.
  • A Refresh button is added to HTML Component Downloader to load any web page that is being browsed and refresh the list instantly. Also, title of the web page will be displayed above the list.
  • You can now configure which of the following two tabs of Start Page to be loaded upon closing all tabs in panel --Latest Viewed Tabs or last viewed one.

[Improvements]

  • File Content Previewer is improved from using internal process to using external process which has been used by Exp+ Web Browser.
  • The user interfaces of Web Cache Downloader, previously named as Temporary Internet Files, and HTML Component Downloader, a plug-in, are integrated into one. Switching to each other is allowed.
  • The functions of location bar are improved. First, upon typing any folder path, real-time search will be performed to display matching ones in drop-down menu of the location bar. Second, no http:// is required to load matching history URLs while typing URL.
  • To open the program window of Risingware Exp+, you can not only do this by left-clicking on its tray icon, but also do this through the right-click menu of its tray icon.
  • Before removing a plug-in, a confirmation will be made.

[Bug Fixes]

  • The Image Previewer, which is used to preview images by hovering over file icons with mouse, could not preview some PNG files. This problem is fixed.
  • A problem of a slow response in displaying drop-down menu of mainmenu Favorites is now  fixed.
  • Previously, the content of a Zip file in a Zip Tab could not be viewed, and files it contains could not be opened. This problem is fixed.
  • A file set to be opened with appointed application in a group could not be successfully opened. This problem is fixed.
  • A problem of a missing down arrow button attached to Panel Proportion Cycle button at Function Key Bar is now fixed.
  • When starting Batch File Renamer, only Display Folders button was selected, which could easily lead to an incomplete search result. Now, this problem is fixed by making an extra selection of Display Files button by default.
  • A few icons of Zipped files were displayed as folder icons in drop-down menus of Recent Folders buttons at tab bars. These zipped files are either dragged and dropped to a tab bar from a folder or started from Recent Document tab in Navigation Panel.
  • An error message did not appear after adding a folder tab from submenu of a subfolder in mainmenu Favorites into itself. This problem is fixed.
