Risingware Exp+ 3.0.a Release Notes

Some major new features, improvements, and bug fixes in 3.0.a are as follows;

[New Features]

  • Add a tool: Risingware i-Desktop
    Add a Windows desktop replacement extending your current desktop and containing more shortcuts to end clutter. With this tool, you can:
    - Customize desktops to house shortcuts by category. Each desktop can be set with a distinct banner and background.
    - Customize shortcuts which can be created by dragging and dropping files or applications here.
    - Initialize an embedded tool of Risingware Exp+.
  • Add options for system layout
    - To render a simpler UI, Exp+ now provides three options for program layout, File Manager Mode, Web Browser Mode, and Export Mode, which blends the former two and is the only one choice before.
    - You may switch the system layout in General pane of Exp+ Setup Center window or access one of these from Risingware i-Desktop, the new tool.
  • Add flexibility to set which panes in Navigation Panel to display
    Under Export Mode, you can go to Exp+ Setup center and set which panes in Navigation Panel to display.
  • Add popular websites by category to default groups
    Some popular websites has been added to default groups by category.

[Improvements]

  • Improve Screen Capture Genie
    The image resolution of screenshots taken by Screen Capture Genie has been improved.
  • Improve the performance of closing out all tabs
    Add a blank page as a setting option besides the Start page to be opened when closing out all tabs to improve the performance of this task
  • Improve access to Help file
    - The Exp+ help file has been embedded to Exp+ program UI, so you can expand or collapse its content pages in Navigation Panel.
    - When first initialing Exp+, a welcome page of Help Center will display to guide you through.
    - Using hotkey F1 while using a main tool or function of Exp+ will open its help page in a new tab.
  • Improve Open Items Selectively function for Favorites and Groups
    You can now make invert selection when selectively opening items of a favorite or a group. In this way, these items can be opened partially in one panel, and the rest to the other.

[Bug Fixes]

  • Fix Web Browser
    The drag and drop of a link in a few web pages didn't succeed in opening it. This problem has been fixed.
  • Fix File Manager
    - Occasionally, an Advanced File Search window would be opened in background. This problem has been fixed.
    - After setting files of a file type to be opened by Exp+, the screen flickered whenever one of those were opened. This problem has been fixed.
  • Fix General Functions
    - If the tab to be opened when closing out all tabs was set in Exp+ Setup Center to be a Start Page, an action of closing out all tabs might cause Exp+ to halt. This problem has been fixed.
    - Clicking on a Visited Folders button or on a Visited Webpages button didn't open its drop-down menu due to no such tabs having been opened before. This problem has been fixed.
    - Occasionally, the change in the width of Navigation Panel was not saved successfully. This problem has been fixed.
    - A few Exp+ processes in the Task Manager was not closed after the exit of Exp+. This problem has been fixed.
    - Exp+ saved the selection of some checkboxes in Open Items Selectively window used to open favorites and groups despite the exit without even opening these items. This problem has been fixed.
